2019 NEW VENUE AND WE ARE LIVE

February 01, 2019

After a LONG venue hunt we've partnered up with UNION STAGE, 740 Water Street SW! It's located near the SW waterfront at the Wharf.

Last year was incredible - so many beautiful fucking humans, vibing, dancing, singing, feeling and supporting one another. But since we had SO MANY BEAUTIFUL FUCKING HUMANS - we had to find a larger space.

We sold out Songbyrd, had a line wrapped around the door, and were jam packed inside. There were moments when we as an organizing team were fully panicking - by the end of the night things for us were insane. We recognize the DJs didn't get the full attention that that deserved. We were definitely off our time schedule.

We've learned a lot. We've listened a lot. We've had some leadership changes but we are ready to FUCK SHIT UP again. We have a larger space. A fully staffed music venue. It's ADA-accessible WHICH IS HUGE IN DC. We wanted something that was affordable so all could attend so we have a three-tiered price structure: $15 for early bird, $20 advance, $20-$25 at the door.

This years charitable organization is THIS COULD GO BOOM! a nonprofit record label whose mission is to curate, create, publish, promote and distribute the musical works of under-represented, gender diverse people. TCGB! will work for parity of representation in every facet of the music industry, from recording & production to live performance & creative expression to music journalism & media broadcasting. So let's fuck this shit up, smash the patriarchy and make this go boom!
